The Village has a full plate of activities and recreation for the entire family. Some of the country's best mountain bike and hiking trails surround the Village. The disc golf and Hillbilly putt-putt courses, tennis and volleyball courts, game room and boating on Fontana Lake are just the start of every day in the Village.
The Stone Creek Pool & Lazy River provides fun and relaxation for everyone in the family. The Recreation Hall is home of the famous "Floating Dance Floor". Cloggers and square dancers come from coast to coast to kick up their heels on this famous dance floor. The hall also hosts numerous cultural events throughout the seasons.
Daily scheduled activities add to the special memories of a Fontana vacation. Activities include evening campfires and marshmallow roasts, live music, artisan crafting classes, kids arts and crafts, games and relays, the famous evening softball games, hot fudge sundaes on the General Store porch, ghost tours, narrated nature hikes, fire-side storytelling, yoga, talent shows, karaoke, dancing and much, much more. The Village Green is the center for a little sport during the day. Located next to the Stone Creek Pool and Lazy River, Fontana maintains sand volleyball courts, tennis and basketball courts and the always popular softball diamond that is always a hot spot for sluggers each evening. |

Join the outdoors program staff at dusk for tours in and around tthe Village for a historical perspective of the creation of Fontana Village, the people who worked here and perhaps a ghostly glimpse of how things used to be. Listen for the creaking of the wood floors and the jangling of the door handles as you tour the old school house, the TVA dam workers hospital and more! |
