Swain High School presents the “Wizard of Oz” on Stage
For the tenth consecutive year Swain High is proud to present a Broadway musical. This year’s presentation is “The Wizard of Oz”, based on the beloved MGM movie. Performances will be in the Swain County Center for the Arts on March 19-21 and 26-28th . Evening performances will be 7 PM on March 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th, with 2:30 PM matinees on March 21st 27th, and 28th. Leading out onstage will be Rachel Kolodski (daughter of Florie T. Kolodski and the late Joe Kolodski) in the role of Dorothy. This is Rachel’s 4th appearance in a Broadway musical on the SCHS stage. Playing opposite Rachel are David Parton (Scarecrow), John Thomas White (Tinman) and Robert Lowe (Lion). Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance from any Vocal Ensemble member. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens, students, and children of all ages. Special light up roses will be available for sale at each performance, Purchase of a rose allows you to be a part in the play. There will be a special children’s matinee on the 27th at 2:30. Children accompanied by an adult will be admitted for $3.
