Before heading south to Florida I had the opportunity to take out backpacking the Get Out More Team of Backpacker Magazine. The team, Matt and Carry, had a great job traveling around this summer visiting amazing places convincing people to Get Out More and enjoy the outdoors. The last stretch of their tour brought them to Fontana. Shortly after they came to the village we went out for a few days to many amazing places out in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We visited Bone Valley, the old Town of Medlin, a copper mine that we had to blaze our own trail to, and an old fire tower's cabin on High Rock Trail (5,188'.)
