Copper Mine

I forgot to post this in November. Sarah and I had some dear friends from Florida come to our home here in NC. We were excited since William and Heidi were the first to see the house. I was able to take WIlliam out for a hike. It was cut short because of everything going on with Thanksgiving, but we were able to see an amazing hidden secret of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Here William is peaking into the 2000 feet deep copper mine hidden in the woods.

Christmas Advent

I am working on a project to expand my creativity. Go here to see what I am doing.

Slickrock Wilderness

I just got back from the Slickrock Creek Trail and had a blast. I parked at the spot where Harrison Ford, in the Fugitive, is floating on a log after jumping off the dam, which you can also see from that spot. There were large, I mean real large, boulders on the walk along with huge rock walls which I rarely seem to see in the area. It looked like a good spot for climbing, however I wouldn't know as I am not a climber. The trail itself is kind of sketchy. A lot of erosion causing for steep falls to your side. Along with ice and fallen leaves on the ground, at times it was a little scary, but that really made it more fun.
