I am working on a project called Fontana Stories. I will be interviewing people in the area about varies topics in the Appalachian Mountains. It's a growing project and I have lots of ideas. check out the first one by clicking on the "Podcast" button.

My name is Gary Carden. I just visited your blog and it reminded me of how much I owe to the Fontana region. I'm a storyteller and I've heard stories all of my life about Fontana. I have a play called "Birdell" that is based on some stories that I heard on Land's Creek about the building of Fontana. When I wen to college, I met Duane Oliver who ended up collecting an amazing amount of material about Fontana, and I have it all.
