Hi-Yak Festival
Fontana Village Resort will be hosting the 2nd annual Hi-Yak Festival. Hikers, grab your packs and kayakers, bring your boats as we celebrate the Appalachian Trail and Cheoah River. Spring Hike Week
Spring Hike Week. A celebration of the scenic splendor of the Great Smoky Mountains and the rich cultural heritage in the region. Hikes include destinations in the southwest boundaries of the park such as Twenty Mile Ranger station, Hazel Creek, Eagle Creek and as far south as the Tsali Recreation area on Fontana Lake. Seminars and hikes are also planned around nature conservancy; preservation of burial grounds in the communities of Proctor, Fairview and Cable Cove (communities that were displaced when the construction of Fontana Dam flooded the Little Tennessee River Valley). Bluegrass concerts and cookout events are spread out through Fontana Village all week long.

Dam Kids Gathering • Spring 2008
The spring gathering of the folks who were the children in Fontana Village during the construction of Fontana Dam in the early 1940's. All of the fond memories come flooding back as the "children" sit 'round the fireplace at the lodge every evening, reminiscing about the good times, growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Fontana Community Church Benefit Gospel Concert
A Benefit Concert to refurbish the Fontana Community Church. Sunday, April 27th from 2-5pm, the concert will feature the Shining Pathway Singers, the Corbin Family, Gloria Hardy and the Atoah Singers. All proceeds will go to the Church for planned renovations of this Fontana landmark.

Mini Coopers 2008
Each spring, these ground hugging denizens of the asphalt decend on the mountains of Westrn North Carolina to play, party, feast and most importantly.... drive the famous Dragon and Hellbender 28. A full weekend of excitement. This one fills up fast, so call the Fontana Village Group Sales staff early to reserve your room or cottage.

Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Festival
Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Festival! Pickin' and a grinnin' in the mountains. Sweet. A one day event on May 10, 2008; 12:00 Noon until 9:00 PM. Indoors at the Fontana Village Recreation Hall. Tickets available at the door.

This year's performers: Blue Moon Rising, Balsam Range, Cumberland Gap Connection, Donna Hughes and Pine Mountain Railroad. All the bands except for Pine Mountain Railroad will be playing two sets. Dam Bike Rally
Straddling the Great Smoky Mountains National Park & The Nantahala National Forest, Fontana Village has become a motorcycle mecca of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The 22 mile stretch of NC Hwy. 28, known as the Hellbender 28, sitting at Fontana Village's front door runs into the famous Dragon just 10 miles up the highway. The influx of riders from around the country gave rise to The Smoky Mountain Bike Week every October. The fall festivals's twin in the spring....
